A “Vacuum Contactor” is a “Switching device” that “makes and breaks” the electrical current inside a chamber called “Vacuum Interrupter Tube” (VI). During breaking arc is established between fixed & moving contacts of VI. At current zero the arc ceases & the circuit voltage is isolated internally by rapidly improved dielectric strength between fixed & moving contacts. The special contact material used in the VI, ensure low chopping current & switching over voltage, thus enhances the life of connected load. Viz. Motors, Transformers, Capacitors etc.
